This just in: This Saturday there will be a rally against the proposed building of a wall on the Texas-Mexico border. While pedestrians gather at the Roma Bluffs overlooking the Rio Grande (also near the World Birding Center), canoeists and kayakers are supposed to paddle their way from nearby Frontera, TX, to the waters under the bluffs by 10 a.m.

Then everyone is supposed to walk to the international bridge and form a hands-across-the-river line to Ciudad Miguel Alemรกn to signify the close ties among all the border cities.

More rallies are scheduled in other cities along the river in the weeks to follow. โ€“ Margaret Downing
