Okay, it’s official. Congress today asked the Justice Department to investigate whether Roger Clemens lied under oath.

So, if the Yao Ming news was the worst news that Rocket attorney Rusty Hardin has heard in weeks, as he told the Chron, I wonder where this news will rank. Once again, just allow me to say that you’ve done a great job, Rusty. Has your nearly dead career flashed before your eyes, yet?

And, to make things better, the word is out that IRS agent Jeff Novitzky is also now officially after Clemens, and he has already scheduled a meeting with Jose Canseco about that party.

But I suppose none of this matters to Hardin. It’s not like possible jail time for his client can in anyway compete with an injury to Yao Ming. And Rocket, I’ve got some advice. Call Dick DeGuerin. If he’s good enough for Tom DeLay, he’s definitely good enough for you. Besides, it’s time that you hired someone who knows what he’s doing. Because if you thought it was bad now, just wait. It’s about to get a lot worse.

Just ask Barry Bonds. And Marion Jones. And Miguel Tejada. — John Royal
