Dominic Walshยs young dance company (just ending its fifth season) has always made collaboration a priority, and Walsh himself regularly travels around the world to work with other groups. Tonightยs show, E_Merging II, involves one such alliance; joining the Dominic Walsh Dance Theater will be Gustavo Ramirez Sansano of Valencia, Spain, whose work Dicese is making its U.S. premiere.
Walsh will present a world premiere work about the evolution of the ballet philosophies that inspire his choreography. E_Merging also involves collaboration between the dancers and local visual artists: Ramirez chose to work with Houston artist Navid Ghedami, who reimagined the workยs sets and props. Walshยs piece will be set against an installation by abstract painter Nicola Parente with live music by Two Star Symphony. 7:30 p.m. today and tomorrow, 2 p.m. Saturday. Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, 800 Bagby. For information, call 713-315-2525 or visit www.dwdt.org. $17 to $42.
