If you’re trying to figure out what to do between the hours of 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on May 4, fret no more: You oughta go to The Village at Gleannloch Farms’ pet adoption and fundraiser shindig, benefiting Tomball’s all-volunteer Abandoned Animal Rescue group.
In addition to tons of cute critters you can micro-chip on site for $25, you can stuff your face silly with hamburgers and ice cream. Better yet, you can adopt a dog and stuff hisface with hamburgers and ice cream — everyone’s a winner!
Adoption fees aren’t the cheapest — $100 — but that includes monthly training sessions. (All animals are fully vetted and spayed/neutered).
Abandoned Animal Rescue “currently houses 45 dogs and 30 cats, and is full to capacity all the time, with a waiting list of animals ready to come in,” according to a press release.
And, if you feel especially generous, the shelter is in need of Purina dog, puppy, cat, and kitten chow; canned dog and cat food; toys; latex gloves (we’re pretty sure that’s not for the dogs); dog treats and collars, small carpet samples….well, just visit the site for a list of stuff they need.
Go check it out and see if you don’t find a new best friend!
