Up and coming country voice Bri Bagwell took a few moments out of her busy schedule of opening for Miranda Lambert and filming a new video from her song “Whiskey” to answer a few questions. Here’s what we learned about her in 30 seconds.
Rocks Off: What is worst song in the world?
Bri Bagwell: “Red Solo Cup” comes to mind! It’s clever, but when you’re trying to get radio spins and that plays on a station – you just have to say come on!
RO: What is the best lyric in the world?
BB: “Are we rolling downhill like a snowball headed for hell…” — Merle Haggard.
RO: Someone throws a beer bottle at you onstage. What do you do?
BB: Duck! Then the rest depends on if I’m drinking whiskey or water that night.
RO: Without worrying about space, time, or the laws of physics, what would be the ultimate gig to play?
BB: I’d play underwater with whales, fish and dolphins for my audience. I love to scuba dive and I’m fascinated by the ocean! I have a feeling they like country music, too.
RO: What would you buy with a million dollars?
BB: My parents’ house, so they never sell it.
RO: What would you buy with your last dollar?
BB: Ramen noodles — been there, done that!
RO: If you could canonize another musician who would it be and of what would they be the patron saint?
BB: I’m not really for shooting any musician out of a cannon… Okay really — Johnny Cash. St. Awesomeness?
RO: What will be written on the plaque beneath the giant statue future generations erect in your honor?
BB: “A bird doesn’t sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.” – Lou Holtz.
Bri Bagwell plays Firehouse Saloon with Christen Sawyer Saturday, March 17.
