The braised lamb taco is one of the best choices on the quick lunch menu at Yelapa Playa Mexicana on Richmond, the subject of this week’s Café review. The “Express Lunch” offers three courses for $12.95. It starts with your choice of a garden salad with mango and chile vinaigrette or a pile of avocado slices with persimmon and a cinnamon oil and lime dressing.
Two tacos is one of the entrée choices — I tried the excellent lamb shoulder taco and a less exciting fish taco. You can also opt for a bowl of pozole or a chilled shrimp salad as your main course. Desserts are either flan with rosewater or a Fuji apple salad with ginger broth. Try the brightly colored refrescos instead of the iced tea — I like the red grapefruit flavor.
