The Our Image Film and Arts Festival has a simple goal — to promote works by underrepresented minorities with honesty rather than sensationalism. That said, the fourth annual Our Image Film and Arts Festival will definitely be sporting some of the most awesome sensationalism ever put on the screen. The showcase of the festival is Tey (Today), an incredible look at a man named Satche (Saul Williams) who returns from America to his ancestral home (Senegal) to live the final 24 hours of his life. Williams, always a remarkable actor, will be on hand for a question-and-answer session. Our Image is also screening Destination: Planet Negro! Kevin Wilmott takes the casual racism of the early period of science fiction film and television, turns it on its head, then lights the fuse for blastoff. Shot in a nostalgic, cheesy style that calls to mind Flash Gordon, it nonetheless hits all the important cultural notes Ray Bradbury did in The Martian Chronicles.
