Four-legged creatures get in on the Mardi Gras celebration at the Krewe of Barkus & Meoux Parade. Animal lovers will enjoy this event, where pets are not only welcome, theyre the main attraction. Theres an optional pre-parade costume contest, with the winning pooches, cats, birds, bunnies, turtles and other pets marching as the parades Royal Court. 1 p.m. The parade starts at 27th and Seawall and travels to 47th Street.
