Fans of defensive lineman Jarvis Green might know the football player as a two-time Super Bowl champion, but during Houston’s Wine & Food Week, he’ll be the event’s official Wine Wizard, while author and celebrity chef Rebecca Lang is the event’s Wizard Gourmet.

The two will be overseeing a variety of events, including two that can’t be missed. First, there’s the H-E-B Wine Walk at Market Street, with some 40 wine and food tasting stations and live music. Second, it’s the Wine Rendezvous Grand Tasting and Texas Monthly Chef Showcase. Hundreds of wines will be available for tasting while chefs from more than 50 restaurants compete for the prestigious Waterford Crystal Chef of Chefs Award, which includes a $5,000 cash prize. More than a dozen other related events complete the week’s schedule.

The H-E-B Wine Walk at Market Street is 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 9. 9595 Six Pines Drive, The Woodlands. $50 to $75. The Wine Rendezvous Grand Tasting & Texas Monthly Chef Showcase is 7 to 10 p.m. June 11. The Woodlands Marriott Water-way, 1601 Lake Robbins Drive. $125 to $175.
