Burger Bodega founder Abbas Dhanani brings For The Culture to PX Café for a one-day pop-up spotlighting Pakistani childhood favorites and family recipes, with a menu that includes Mom’s Nihari, chicken biryani, a Chicken Sixty-Five po’ boy and a cookie sundae made with mango lassi ice cream and spiced cookies. Underground Creamery and Pudgy’s Fine Cookies handle dessert, and proceeds benefit PX Project Houston, which supports career exploration and life-skills training for young adults.

7th Annual Gumbo Cook-Off at Cedar Creek Bar & Grill

Folks can get roux’d at Cedar Creek’s big annual gumbo throwdown, where gumbo crews and local cooks compete for cash prizes and bragging rights, with live music from A Pack of Strays and DJ MLE, fine cocktails, cold beer, a mechanical bull, games, prizes and family-friendly fun while you sample and vote for your favorite gumbo. Tasting wristbands are $35 plus fees.

Turner’s turns dinner into a piano bar for one night with an intimate Billy Joel sing-along led by a live pianist, with seatings at 5:30 and 8 p.m. Guests dine from the regular à la carte menu while belting out classics like We Didn’t Start the Fire and Only the Good Die Young, with crowd participation very much encouraged. Come for the steaks and martinis, stay because suddenly everyone knows all the words.

Crawfish Sundays at Reset Rooftop Lounge

Reset Rooftop Lounge kicks off Crawfish Sundays with rooftop boils, skyline views and a live DJ setting the vibe. Expect classic crawfish platters—two pounds for $25 or three pounds for $35—served hot with sausage, corn and potatoes, plus a $45 K2G platter loaded with crawfish, snow crab and shrimp.
