We have donated afghans created by our knitters as a group to The Houston Area Women’s Center & Ronald McDonald House. Our knitters have made hats for service men & women in Iraq & Afghanistan, made Chubby Chirpies to aid the Houston Zoo in supporting penguins harmed by an oil spill in New Zealand, and knitted elephants for sale to support research and conservation efforts.
Click on the link to obtain the pattern for the “minie” hat. When you’re finished, bring the hat to the shop. Each month we collect all hats and take them to the hospital.
Our talented staff is always happy to help you solve a problem. We suggest you call first and make an appointment with someone or sign up for a B &B class. Without an appointment our staff's first priority must be to customers in the shop and you might not receive the attention you deserve. The ladies and gentlemen sitting & knitting, especially on Thursday evenings are usually very generous with their expertise.
All returns are for store credit only & must be accompanied by your receipt. Books, patterns, & special orders may not be returned. Needles may be returned within 2 weeks. That gives you time to see if you already have that size needle or to knit a gauge swatch to know you purchased the correct size. The needles must be in their original packaging and the packaging can't be damaged - open carefully. Clearly unused yarn in good condition may be returned for up to six months. Yarn that has been wound may not be returned.
Special orders must be paid for in advance and may not be returned. If the order is for a yarn or color we don't normally stock, you must purchase the vendor's required minimum amount.
We are happy to wind yarn that you have purchased elsewhere. Up to 250 yards - $1 per ball 251 - 500 yards - $3 per ball 501 - 750 yards - $4 per ball 751 and over - $5 per ball We cannot rewind previously wound yarn as we cannot assume responsibility for yarn which is tangled, knotted, or damaged. As laceweight, mohair, an novelty yarns are difficult to wind using our equipment (which is not automated), there will be an additional charge of $1 per ball. We reserve the right to refuse to wind homespun yarn as it may have been processed with chemicals that could collect on our equipment, damaging it and any other yarns wound after. Thank you for your cooperation.
