At the 2009 Art for the Hungry exhibit, you might see Mickey Mouse made from soup cans, or Cinderella constructed with boxes of spaghetti. ยFood architectsย (yeah, we never heard that term either) are taking over Willowbrook Mall and building Disney characters completely from nonperishable food items (they have to use a minimum of 1,000 items). Itยs a fund-raiser for the SOS childrenยs meal program. Press materials say the ยconstruction is easier than you might think,ย but weยre not so sure. Once the edible artworks are finished, the public votes for their favorite display (votes here meaning cash donations). Drop by the mall to see the sculptures and vote for your favorite before April 5. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. 2000 Willowbrook Mall.
