2009 NWS Hurricane Workshop

Water? Check. Batteries? Check. Personal meteorologist? Che…wait a minute, personal meteorologist? Well, if you attend the 2009 NWS Hurricane Workshop, you’ll be able to check that off your list, too. Local government agencies, businesses and nonprofit organizations have joined forces to provide Houstonians with the latest information on evacuation routes, emergency kits, home protection and other hurricane preparedness topics. There will be lots of giveaways, including two 3,500-watt Homelite generators, T-shirts and other products. There will also be workshops, one of which is an Ask Your Local Television Meteorologist Q&A session. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. George R. Brown Convention Center, 1001 Avenida de las Americas.
