26th Annual Día de los Muertos - Musical and Literary Ofrenda

Composers from Musiqa, musicians from the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra and writers from Inprint come together for a special Día de los Muertos Musical and Literary Ofrenda at the Lawndale Art Center. Composer Karim Al-Zand, recently profiled in the 100 Creatives series on our Art Attack blog, contributes That Cuckoo Who Sang, while writer David Tomas Martinez reads Calaveras. Other participants include composers Anthony Brandt (Ofrenda 2013), Pierre Jalbert (I Run to Death), and writers Kay Cosgrove (Tornado) and Henk Rossouw (Elegy for the Gesture). Musicians scheduled to perform include Alecia Lawyer (oboe) and Timothy Jones (baritone).
