3rd Annual Rock the Cradle for Johnny Romano Memorial Contest

Los Skarnales and DJ Ceeplus Black Knives are among the entertainers who'll appear at the 3rd Annual Rock the Cradle for Johnny Romano Memorial Contest. The only event of its kind in the state, Rock the Cradle benefits the Johnny Kicks Cancer Foundation. Romano was an 11-year-old Galveston boy who made friends - and fans - out of some of skateboarding's biggest names before he lost his battle with cancer in 2008, some of whom will be at today'`s contest. Expect to see local and national skaters such as Sergie Ventura, Ken Fillion and Chris Gentry. 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark, 103 Sabine Street. For information, visit www.johnnykickscancer.org. $10.
