“A5: The Annual Affordable Australian Aboriginal Art Fair”

Art from down under is coming to Houston in “A5: The Annual Affordable Australian Aboriginal Art Fair.” Critic Robert Hughes considers aboriginal art “the last great art movement of the twentieth century.” The paintings were selected by gallery owner Nana Booker during her travels to the remote communities in Australia, including the country-continent’s vast central and western deserts. “We believe it is important for Texas art collectors to have the opportunity to see this important and unique artwork here, rather than having to travel to experience it,” said Broker. The works at this show will focus on pieces that range in price from $325 to $950. “In addition to the current exhibition, visitors to Booker-Lowe can expect to see the largest American gallery collection of Australian Aboriginal art, including hundreds of paintings, fine art prints and carvings from throughout Australia,” said Booker. 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, Booker-Lowe Gallery, 4623 Feagan Street.
