Adam Richman

Though he probably didn't foresee a career path that would force him to pig out on a 72-ounce steak or an 11-pound, 30-inch meat-covered pizza for a national audience after graduating from the Yale School of Drama, actor/foodie Adam Richman has carved out a niche for himself as the host (and victim) of the Travel Channel's popular Man vs. Food, which takes him across the world. At his talk today, just don’t call him a glutton. Richman maintains that there's a difference between gluttony and indulgence, saying that on vacation, everyone should set aside their diets and taste the best of what a city has to offer. Expect a combination of gastronomic observations and comedy during today's show. 8 p.m. House of Blues, 1204 Caroline. For information, call 888-402-5837 or visit $15 to $30.

KEEP THE HOUSTON PRESS FREE... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
Bob Ruggiero has been writing about music, books, visual arts and entertainment for the Houston Press since 1997, with an emphasis on classic rock. He used to have an incredible and luxurious mullet in college as well. He is the author of the band biography Slippin’ Out of Darkness: The Story of WAR.
