YouTube-style video seems to have penetrated high art, and if Artist as Performer is any indication, thats not necessarily a bad thing. The exhibit features a slate of artists working with photography and video to re-create narratives and reconstruct memories. Christopher Pickett uses humor to take on narcissism in his video The Kiss, and William Lamson contributes video documentation of his attempt to re-enact stunts performed by William Tell, in addition to the contributions of several other artists. The opening reception is 6 to 9 p.m. Through November 5. Houston Center for Photography, 1441 West Alabama. For information and regular gallery hours, visit www.hcponline.org. Free.
