Bank-Robber Chic at Grant Road Wells Fargo

What are bank robbers wearing to the crime scene this year? Saucy jean shorts.

The FBI Houston Bank Robbery Task Force needs your help nabbing a depeche mode bandit who robbed the Wells Fargo Bank at 10978 Grant Road this afternoon.

According to the press release, the smooth criminal was dressed in a dark button-down shirt and long denim shorts with "unique stitching" on the pockets. Witnesses were unable to make the judgment call on whether the particular uniqueness of the pocket decor displayed a chic elegance or whether it resembled the "douchebag stitch."

The embroidered suspect entered the bank at approximately 2:20 p.m. and passed the teller a note. No word on whether the note displayed a similarly sophisticated grasp of wordplay. Could be, though, since the teller complied with the demand, and the robber exited the bank in an unknown direction.

Witnesses describe the robber, aside from his previously mentioned "unique" dress, as a black male, 18-25 years old, 5'6" to 5'7" tall, 160-170 pounds, very dark complexion, and closely shaved hair.

If you have information about this case, please call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 713-222-TIPS(8477).
