Beauty and the Beast

The Broadway-style musical Beauty and the Beast might be one of the sweetest introductions to the world of live theater you could give your child. The fairy tale story of lovely Belle who falls for the ugly Beast offers a lesson on the nature of true love. Throw in a magical castle full of dancing tableware, a snotty candlestick and a very maternal teapot, and you’ve got an enchanting story that kids and grownups alike can love. See Masquerade Theatre’s Beauty and the Beast at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays. Through June 8. Hobby Center, Zilkha Hall, 800 Bagby. For information, call 713-861-7045 or visit www.masqueradetheatre.com. $30 to $50.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: May 30. Continues through June 8, 2008
