“Beyond Graphite: Fab 15 + Performance”

G gallery, in conjunction with ArtHouston 2014, presents the exhibit “Beyond Graphite: Fab 15 + Performance,” which includes established artists but also provides an opportunity to see the work of emerging artists. Catherine D. Anspon of PaperCity curated the exhibition, and describes its variety most interestingly: “Wheelbarrow-driving art car artists wielding chalk; a 96-year-old scientist who’s turned Grandpa Moses and now draws cats; mad low-brow cartooning with a Gothic twist; nifty pen-and-inks devoted to beer, guns and trucks; a sketch of a water cooler dispensing Moët; and the cosmology of the Indian subcontinent are a few highlights.” Well said! The artists are: Susan Plum, Joy Parazette, Harry D. Anspon, Fernando Ramirez, Molly Jodeit, Seth Mittag, Ken Mazzu, Rahul Mitra, Dran Alessi, Anne Reese Hernandez, Celeste Tammariello, Fabio Daroma, Dylan Roberts and Loli Fernández-Andrade Kolber, plus the Wheelbarrow Crew (Jim Bentley, Steve Oslind, George Hixson, Casper Van Ek and Mark Valero).
