As an actor, it's a rare thing to play a living person, and even rarer to actually meet the subject of your own portrayal.
At tonight's performance of Bluefinger: The Fall and Rise of Herman Brood, I'll have the crazy experience of meeting Koos van Dijk (Dutch rocker Brood's longtime manager), who I play in the show. Needless to say, this is an utter trip for me. Van Dijk will also be on hand for audience Q&As after tonight's and tomorrow's performances at DiverseWorks. He has been incredibly supportive of the production.

For van Dijk, it's nothing new to watch someone tackle his own persona. Dutch actor Marcel Hensema deftly played him in the 2006 feature film Wild Romance, about the life of Brood.
Art Attack will have a report tomorrow on what it was like. (Yikes.)
