In what for the most part appears to be a fans' favorites kind of approach to musical theater, Broadway At The Hobby Center announced today that Pippin, Phantom of the Opera, The Sound of Music, Cabaret, Disney's Beauty and the Beast and yes, wait for it.....Wicked will be among its offerings this next season.
Although several of these have been seen at the Hobby in very recent years, Broadway apparently believes that the appetite for these shows hasn't dimmed and touts that several of these are new productions or revivals.
In addition, in late May 2016, the two-time Tony Award-winning Carole King story Beautiful will be presented. And before that, the show I Love Lucy Live on Stage.

PIPPIN October 20 - 25, 2015
Pippin tells the story of a young prince on a death-defying journey to find meaning in his existence. Will he choose a happy but simple life? Or, will he risk everything for a singular flash of glory? Back on Broadway for the first time in 40 years, Pippin won the Tony Award® for Best Musical Revival. The score is by Tony Award® nominee Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Wicked).
THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA November 18 - 29, 2015
Cameron Mackintosh's new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical is coming back to Houston as part of a new North American Tour. The score - with songs like "Music of the Night," "All I Ask Of You," and "Masquerade" - will be performed by a cast and orchestra of 52, reportedly making this Phantom one of the largest productions now on tour.
I LOVE LUCY® LIVE ON STAGE January 12 - 17, 2016
I Love Lucy® Live on Stage is the brand-new stage show adapted from the television show and featuring the four main characters: Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel. Go back to 1952 and be part of the studio audience watching them film two shows.
THE SOUND OF MUSIC February 16 - 21, 2016
This new production of The Sound of Music, is directed by three-time Tony Award®-winning Director Jack O'Brien.,Maria and the Von Trapp Family will once again hit the boards, singing their hearts out while the audience mouths the words. The infamous Kit Kat Klub is back and as always the Emcee, Sally Bowles and an ensemble of performers cavort in pre-World War II Germany. It's got the memorable songs ("Cabaret," "Willkommen" and "Maybe This Time.") -- last time we went the guy two seats down sang through the whole show -- and a story that lasts.
NETworks Presents Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (Season Option - Add To Your Season Package) April 27 - May 1, 2016
