Jewelry company Bulgari is celebrating its 130th Anniversary and the Houston Museum of Natural Sciences is playing host. Bulgari: 130 Years of Masterpieces will be once in a lifetime exhibition of 150 pieces of jewelry from the Bulgari Heritage Collection representing every period in the brands storied history, from its 1884 founding in Rome until the present day.
"Because the Houston Museum of Natural Science is home to one the finest collections of natural gem crystals in the world, I have a deep appreciation for the quality and diversity of the gems that Bulgari uses ... Bulgari not only pays homage to the great masters of the past, they also continuously push the envelope in jewelry design and cutting-edge technology into the future," says Joel A. Bartsch, president of the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
Bulgari has graced the necks of celebrities, royalty and fashion's elite for decades and guests will be treated to a treasure trove of jewels accompanied by images of the rich and famous wearing select pieces.
Jewelry worn by notable names like Sophia Loren, Ingrid Bergman, Grace Kelly, Milla Jovovich, Jennifer Aniston, Meryl Streep and Julianne Moore, along with pieces once owned by Elizabeth Taylor and Grace Kelly, will be on display as part of the exhibition.

Not to be outdone by the likes of Hollywood and New York City, Bulgari necklaces from Houstonians Lynn Wyatt and Joanne King Herring will be on display as well.
Those of you used to being in the lap of luxury or those looking to have a little bit of that mojo rub off on them (this is me) will enjoy this peek into the archives of a jewelry empire.
Bulgari: 130 Years of Masterpieces is set to open May 2 and will run to October 5. I'll need to find my monocle and send my smoking jacket to the dry cleaners for this one.
