Canal Street Gallery; "Par Avion"

Houston artist Gordon Phillipson grew up making model airplanes in his native Jamaica. Those childhood memories are the inspiration for his art exhibit "Par Avion," currently at Canal Street Gallery. In press materials, Phillipson says, "It's a craze, really, my passion for airplanes. It's almost as if I don't want to fly in one, I want to be one." See Phillipson soar from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Through June 30. 2219 Canal. For information, call 713-223-2219 or visit Free.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: June 5. Continues through June 30, 2009
