Chelsea Handler: Lies Chelsea Handler Told Me Tour

Comedians must be a species unto themselves. Why else would you stay friends with the person who stuffed turkey meatballs into the backseat pockets of your new Cadillac? (That’s what Chelsea Handler did to her show’s producer.) And why else would you think it’s funny when you’re boss tricks you into cutting your honeymoon short for a fictional photo shoot? (Which Handler did to Chelsea Lately writer Brad Wollack.) Of course, it might help when the prankster in question is a famous stand-up comic/television talk show host/bestselling author who invites you on tour and lets you tell everyone all the horrible things she’s done. That’s exactly what Handler is doing with her Lies Chelsea Handler Told Me Tour, which includes segments by Wollack and Chelsea Lately regulars Heather McDonald and Josh Wolf (both frequent targets for Handler’s pranks). But, of course, as the headliner, she’ll have the last word on stage. The tour takes its name from Handler’s latest book, which features chapters written by her friends and family, also about Handler’s extreme practical jokes (apparently turkey meatballs and fake photo shoots are among the tamest). 7 p.m. Verizon Wireless Theater, 520 Texas. For information, call 713-230-1600 or visit $65 to $85.
