Christopher Titus

His mom was a schizophrenic — she killed one of her husbands and then committed suicide in prison. His dad (not the dead guy) was an alcoholic and thought letting his five-year-old put his finger in a light socket was a good way of teaching him not to do that. His friends waited until the morning to take him to the hospital when he fell into a bonfire on the beach one night so as not to spoil the party. To us, that’s a brutal life. To Christopher Titus, it’s fodder for a stand-up comedy routine. 8:30 p.m. House of Blues, 1204 Caroline. For information, call 888-402-5837 or visit $27.50 to $30.

KEEP THE HOUSTON PRESS FREE... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
