Bering & James’s latest exhibit, “CINCO IV,” is made up of five works created just for the show by each of the gallery’s artists. All in all, there will be more than 150 pieces on display. “It’s a fun summer exhibit,” says Cali Alvarado, gallery manager. “They’re all brightly colored, fun pieces. We have John Jenkins, who showed his Genomic series last June; we’re excited to see his playful combinations and scientific details. We have Erik Estrada, he’s our 3-D artist. He does three-dimensional buildings, vibrant Houston scenes. There’s Stanley Bermudez with his bright, colorful portraits. Stanley’s going to be doing an oil series, with all pumps and oil wells in a Pop Art style. And Ali Cavanaugh has some beautiful watercolors, just soft, childlike, innocent depictions.”
