There's more Houston con news to talk about, and this round doesn't include a lawsuit from the GHCVB

Comicpalooza is the big dog in the world of Houston cons, and this year's lineup may just feature the most interesting reunion yet. Come the weekend of June 17, you can celebrate 30 years of James Cameron's sci-fi action masterpiece Aliens by meeting eight stars of the film, and we're talking some heavy hitters from the world of sci-fi. The lineup includes Sigourney Weaver (!!!!), Michael Biehn (!!), Paul Reiser (yes, he's totally in Aliens), Bill Paxton (try not to get him confused with Bill Pullman), Lance Henriksen (!!!), Jenette Goldstein, Carrie Henn and Mark Rolston.

The Aliens stars join a lineup that includes Kate Beckinsale, Walter Koenig, Kel Mitchell (yes, that Kel), Lennie James, Lou Ferrigno and Fear Factory (who sadly won't be performing, so don't go screaming "Edgecrusher!" at them), with more to be announced, we assume.

It's shaping up to be a pretty good weekend for local geeks. Comicpalooza passes are on sale now.

Comicpalooza takes place at the George R. Brown Convention Center June 17-19.

Keep the Houston Press Free... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Houston with no paywalls.
