With a perfect balance between eye candy and food for the mind, CTRL Gallery pre-sents works by two Brooklyn-based artists. Dan Kopp deals in the space between figurations and abstractions; some of his vivid works portray a painter at work, and others are fragmented bits of color bursting across the canvas.
Jay Davis, whos presenting in Houston for the first time, is similarly intellectual: His work, which deals in prisms, psychedelia, dimension and space, flirts with the concept of pareidolia, the human tendency to seek familiar patterns in random objects. See both exhibits 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Through September 6. 3907 Main. For information, call 713-523-2875 or visit www.ctrlgallery.com. Free.
Tuesdays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Starts: July 11. Continues through Sept. 6, 2008
