Wet dogs arent usually that appealing, but the canines in DockDogs are the exceptions. The nationally sanctioned athletic competition pits four-legged competitors from across the region in high-jump, long-jump and speed competitions as they soar off a 20-foot dock and splash into a 40-foot pool of water. The games attract all sorts of breeds (with varying levels of floating abilities). Theres a Haute Dogs Canine Costume Contest, pet-friendly vendors and much more. The family event runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Discovery Green, 1500 McKinney. For information, visit www.dockdogs.com. Free.
