Easter in the Gardens

After the kiddies stuff their faces with Cadbury eggs and jelly beans on Easter morning, they might be too jacked-up to sit still in church and hear about all that tomb and resurrection stuff. If so, hightail it out to Easter in the Gardens in Galveston’s Moody Gardens. There, the Nickelodeon set can burn off some energy at the egg hunt, petting zoo, or the games, crafts and other activities available for everyone under 12 years old. Of course, there’ll be a special appearance by the Easter Bunny himself (herself?). Just don’t ask what’s up with a bunny bringing eggs – this ain’t the time. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. One Hope Boulevard in Galveston. For information, call 800-582-4673 or visit www.moodygardens.com. Free.

With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
Bob Ruggiero has been writing about music, books, visual arts and entertainment for the Houston Press since 1997, with an emphasis on classic rock.
