Framing Dance

Aren’t sure what contemporary dance is all about? Travesty Dance Group is here to help you figure it out with Framing Dance. The program moves from narrative to abstract styles through performance, projections and audience participation, and it includes a talk by Travesty Dance Group Director Karen Stokes. Not so much a primer on contemporary dance, Framing Dance is more of a cheat sheet. 7:30 p.m. Hobby Center, 800 Bagby. For information, call 832-794-5825 or visit www.travestydancegroup.org. $5 to $12.

KEEP THE HOUSTON PRESS FREE... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
