The Fresh Arts Coalition wants you to know that the Theater District and Museum District arent Houstons only sources of culture. To prove their point, the Coalition presents Fresh Fest, an outdoor celebration of the performing and visual arts companies that lie outside the established culture zones. Discovery Green will be dotted with performance stages, arts workshops, movie screenings, and kids activities. Dance Houston will host a hip-hop workshop, and Mildreds Umbrella will present Timothy Evers in an original play, after which spoken word artist Michael K. Taylor will take the mike. Southwest Alternate Media Project and Aurora Picture Show will both be providing flicks. 6 p.m. 1500 McKinney. For information, call 713-956-5333 or visit www.fresharts.org. Free.
