Fuga

Ana Ilveton Scuseria says she can't tell us much about Fuga, the newest production by Gente de Teatro. ''I don't want to give away the plot because there are lots of surprises. I can say it's very fast with witty dialogue. It's basically a comedy of errors, a modern satire with lots of complicated incidents, some mystery and intrigue, lots of twists and turns.''

The play's set in Spain at the home of a disgraced government secretary. Several characters come to, and somehow end up staying at, the house. Ilveton also tells us not to read too much into Jordi Galceran's story. ''You can look at the play and reflect on political corruption and politics, but the playwright just wanted to entertain us.'' The production is in Spanish, with English surtitles above the stage. ''People who know just a little Spanish can attend and understand everything. And they don't have to complain about us speaking too fast; they can read along with us,'' she laughs.
