After she tweeted a pic of her painted pregnant belly for her Twitter followers, singer Mariah Carey took the next step and is this week's Life & Style cover girl, showing off her expecting torso for the whole world to see, ending what had been a drought of coverage of her and husband Nick Cannon's upcoming non-musical collaboration, twin babies.

Of course, she's not the first mama-to-be to grace a magazine cover with a human being inside her body. Actress Demi Moore did it most famously for a August 1991 Vanity Fair shoot while she was preggers with Scout LaRue Willis, one of her daughters with ex-hubby Bruce Willis.

The last major pop-stars to show off their pregnant wares were Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, who both posed seductively, with little on but a smile and healthy prosperous glow, in 2005, 2006, and 2008.

Here's a quick gallery of ten of the hottest moms to show up on the newsstands, packing a kid or two.

Keep the Houston Press Free... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
