Greater Houston Partnership: Geraldo Rivera

How about a little Geraldo Rivera for lunch? The intrepid attorney, writer, talk-show host, war correspondent and world-renowned mustache-bearer will be in town today for a talk hosted by the Greater Houston Partnership. Whether you prefer Peabody Award-winning journalist Geraldo or -sensational-muckraker Geraldo, you should be interested, as a Houstonian, in the topic he’ll be discussing: immigration reform. Yes, the man who brought you the true cause of Elvis’s death and the mysteries of Al Capone’s vault will take on a far more serious topic, one which he expounds on routinely as a correspondent for Fox News. Yeah, it’s not quite “Men in Lace Panties and the Women who Love Them.” Geraldo seems to have left most of the sensationalist fodder from his eponymous television show behind. Thankfully, the mustache remains. 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Hyatt Regency Houston, 1200 Louisiana. For information, call 713-844-3682 or visit www.houston.org. $65 to $130.
