Today’s the 45th birthday of Helena Bonham Carter, Hollywood’s answer to Jekyll and Hyde. Bonham Carter, who was nominated this year for a best actress Oscar for The King’s Speech, often plays the straight-laced period roles that earned her the nickname “corset queen” early in her career. The red carpet does something devilish, though, and her A-list event fashions rival those of Bjork’s in terms of head-turning and head-scratching (yes, we are still talking about that swan dress). Insert joke here about her being called “corset queen” for a whole other reason.
