“Houston’s History Is Well Marked and All Around You, Explore and Enjoy”

Are you a History Channel fiend? Well, you live in the right place. Harris County has more than 300 state historical markers, and Patrick Van Pelt, the head honcho over at the Harris County Historical Commission, will discuss each and every one of them at today’s “Houston’s History Is Well Marked and All Around You, Explore and Enjoy” lecture. Okay, maybe he’ll only get to a handful, but you get the idea. Noon. The Heritage Society Tea Room, 1100 Bagby. For information, call 713-655-1912 or visit www.heritagesociety.org. The lecture is free; $10 for lunch.
Thu., May 15, 12-1 p.m., 2008
