Inprint Reading Series: Chitra Divakaruni and Gish Jen

Award-winning writers Chitra Divakaruni and Gish Jen are the guest readers at this month’s Inprint Margarett Root Brown Reading Series. Divakaruni, a faculty member at the University of Houston Creative Writing Program, will read from her latest title, One Amazing Thing. The novel deals with a group of people who are trapped together and turn to storytelling in order to pass the time. Jen will read from her newest novel, World and Town, about an immigrant Cambodian family trying to start over and their American neighbor, who has some starting over of her own to do. The two women will return to the stage for a post-reading interview hosted by fiction writer UH Creative Writing alum Miah Arnold. 7:30 p.m. Hobby Center, 800 Bagby.
