Jamie Freveletti: Running from the Devil

Colombian guerrillas, a hijacked plane that goes down in the jungle, dangerous biological weapons and a scientist with her own agenda make up the elements of Jamie Freveletti's debut thriller Running from the Devil. In the novel, biochemist Emma Caldridge, thrown from the wreckage of the downed plane, watches as the other survivors are taken hostage by a guerrilla group. Tracking them back to their camp, she knows that even if she can avoid being captured, she can't avoid the dangers of the jungle. There's quite a buzz building for Running from the Devil and Freveletti's portrayal of her resourceful female hero. 6:30 p.m. Murder by the Book, 2342 Bissonnet.
