Know Something About Lights, Camera, Action? The Houston Press Has Some Opportunities for You

Here at the Houston Press, we're all about sharing the stories of the city we live in. We're big believers in the power of storytelling and the need for certain stories to be told.

We're looking for new people to help us share the stories of Houston to a larger audience. More specifically, we're looking for a few good videographers who have the same passion for storytelling that we do.

While we care about technical ability - the ability to shoot, edit and (seriously, this is huge) capture sound - we're not just looking for someone who knows how to put together a slick PR piece. We're looking for real storytellers who like to get out and talk to people, to spend time with them and get them to open up.

If you want to see a few examples of what we've been working on over the past few months, surf on over to our video page and see what the talented videographers we've worked with so far have come up with.

Want to get eyeballs on your video stories? Here's your chance. Send an email to cory.garcia@houstonpress.com and monica.fuentes@houstonpress.com telling us a little bit about your background and experience, and make sure to send us your reel when you do. Good luck!

Support the independent voice of Houston and help keep the future of Houston Press free.

Keep the Houston Press Free... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Houston with no paywalls.
