We don’t envy comedian Tony Rock. His brother, Chris Rock, is one of the funniest people on the planet; fans fill huge arenas to catch his live shows. Tony, on the other hand, stars in mostly straight-to-DVD films like The Redemption of a Dog and C’mon Man (we’ve never heard of either of those) and he’s just one of five comics on the Laugh My Ass Off (LMAO) Comedy Tour. Is Tony Rock funny? Actually, yes, he is, but in a normal, he-should-have-a-comedy-special sort of way. Not in a genre-busting, Redd Foxx/Richard Pryor/Chris Rock out-of-the-stratosphere-successful sort of way. Poor Tony; it’s a hard rock life.
Capone, Tiffany Haddish, Rob Stapleton and Rudy Rush appear along with Tony Rock in the LMAO Comedy Tour.
8 p.m. Arena Theatre, 7326 Southwest Freeway. For information, call 713-772-5900 or visit arenahouston.com. $37.50.
