Lost and Found Summer Art Workshop

This summer, tell the kids to put down those coloring books — Blaffer Gallery’s Lost and Found Summer Art Workshop will show them that art can be more than trying to stay within the lines of SpongeBob’s head. Under the direction of artist Patrick Renner, they’ll tour the “Existed: Leonardo Drew” exhibit, then get creative with their own two- and three-dimensional projects. The young artists will work with found objects and paper they’ll make themselves — take that, elbow macaroni. For children ages six to 12, the workshop is offered in two sessions: 9:30 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Thursdays or Wednesdays and Fridays. University of Houston Fine Arts Building, entrance no. 16 off Cullen Boulevard. Through June 26. For information, call 713-743-9971 or visit www.blaffergallery.org. $40.
Tuesdays, Thursdays, 9:30 a.m.-noon; Wednesdays, Fridays, 9:30 a.m.-noon. Starts: June 16. Continues through June 26, 2009
