Mamma Mia!

Get your platform boots out of the closet — Mamma Mia! is back in town for one all-too-brief week. The charming bit of musical fluff is a love story set on a beautiful Greek island where the young Sophie Sheridan lives with her single mom. Sophie’s about to get married, and she wants her father to walk her down the aisle. Trouble is, she has no idea who he is. The smart girl arranges for three men from her mother’s past (all possible fathers) to show up at the wedding, thinking she’ll know who the real dad is when she finally lays eyes on him.

Also, there are her mom’s ex-bandmates from the past who arrive for the wedding. Love blooms eternal here, for young and middle-aged. And don’t forget, the best thing about this show is all that music from Swedish rock band ABBA. Wait until you get “Dancing Queen” going in your head — that’s when the fun starts. 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8 p.m. Friday, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Through May 15. Hobby Center, 800 Bagby. For information, call 800-982-2787 or visit $31.70.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: May 10. Continues through May 15, 2011
