Mark Ballas Dances With His Dad Corky in Burn the Floor

Throughout the Houston run, Corky Ballas, the father of Mark Ballas and an internationally known master of international Latin dancing in his own right, is making a cameo appearance in Burn the Floor.

While not everyone realized it on opening night, some in the hometown audience spotted native Houstonian Corky when he stepped out on the floor as part of the "Proud Mary" jive number near the end of the show. He's also in the finale.

Mark Ballas comes by his dancing shoes honestly. Corky began International Latin dancing at the age of 18 and has held titles including United States Pro/Am Champion, United States Champion and British National Champion.

Burn the Floor runs through December 19 at the Hobby Center, 800 Bagby. Tickets are available at www.broadwayacrossamerica.com/Houston or charge by phone by calling 800-982-2787.
