Westerns arent usual fare for the Aurora Picture Show, but for a classic like High Noon, Aurora will make an exception. Todays screening is part of the Menil Summer Movies in the Park series, a collaboration between the two organizations. If youre thinking the 1952 Western might be a bit of a snoozer, think again. The film is actually a scathing allegory of the rise of McCarthyism and Hollywoods failure to protect its own. (You just have to read between the lines a little.) 8 p.m. The Menil Collection, 1515 Sul Ross. For information, call 713-525-9400 or visit www.menil.org. Free.
