Michele Brangwen

For ten years, Michele Brangwen has been making dance in Houston. To celebrate the work she created during that time, she’s decided to look forward and examine some of the creative possibilities the company’s future holds. With 10 Years and 20 Gongs: Michele Brangwen on Sanctuary Moon Brangwen and her company dance to music by jazz composer Seth Paynter. Twenty gongs of varying shapes and sizes, along with wind chimes, Burma bells and wood blocks among other more ordinary instruments, play as the dancers conjure up the mysterious feelings living inside those ancient instruments. The show also features a revival of A Note From Guantanamo with music by Brian Nelson and video by Yunuen Perez Vertti. See 10 Years and 20 Gongs: Michele Brangwen on Sanctuary Moon tonight at 8 p.m. The Performing Arts Center at Houston Community College Northwest, 1060 West Sam Houston Parkway North. For information, call 713-533-9515 or visit www.brangwendance.org. $8 to $12.
