Museum District Day

Museum District Day is a field trip, free of charge and sans permission slip. Catch up on the latest offerings from 17 museums, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Contemporary Arts Museum; Children’s Museum; and Health Museum. There will be a complimentary bus to aid your museum hopping, with activities at every stop. You can talk to the artists behind “No Zoning” at the CAMH, see how math and donuts mix at the Children’s Museum, march in a virtual parade at The Jung Center, get your feet wet at the Weather Museum and more. Pack a sack lunch and live it up old-school — just hold the mayo on that sandwich. (We learned that field-trip lesson in elementary school.) 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Houston Museum District. For information, visit Free.
Sat., Sept. 12, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., 2009
KEEP THE HOUSTON PRESS FREE... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
