Oliver Twist may be one of the luckiest characters ever to step on the stage. The star of the musical Oliver!, Twist goes from rough times at an orphanage to a cushy life with his rich uncle. Of course, there are some bumps and bruises along the way, including being wrongly accused of theft and going hungry from time to time. This Kids' Backporch Productions performance features more than 60 actors singing and dancing onstage, with a 12-piece orchestra providing the music. 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2:30 p.m. Sunday. C.A. Nelson Auditorium, 2337 North Galveston Avenue, Pearland. For information, call 281-412-5350 or visit www.kidsbackporchproductions.org. $5 to $12.

Fri., Aug. 7; Sat., Aug. 8; Sun., Aug. 9, 2009
